Why lens technology matters

Sports sunglasses do more than dim the light. Oakley Prizm lenses are tuned per sport to raise contrast, so you read the surface earlier: cracks in the road, roots on the trail, ice on the piste.

• UV400: blocks the full UVA and UVB range, which is a health requirement rather than a comfort feature.
• Polarised: cuts glare from wet roads, water and snow, best for driving and open water.
• Interchangeable lenses: one frame covers bright sun and overcast days.

Fit

A sports frame should grip at the nose and temples without pressure and stay put when you move your head. Wider wrap shapes also block wind and dust, which matters at speed.
