Low, mid or high cut

Cut height decides how much ankle support you get and how much weight you carry.

• Low: lightest and most breathable, for day trails.
• Mid: the balanced choice with added ankle support.
• High: stability under a loaded pack on rough or wet ground.

A membrane keeps water out while letting sweat escape. Size up by about half a size for descents so your toes do not hit the front.
